Templates and Programs

Find And Start A Template

The Templates page keeps starting a workout prominent while placing less common actions behind deliberate taps.

  • Use Search to find a template by name or description.
  • Pro and Coaching members can switch between My Templates and Built-ins. Free members see built-ins.
  • Open Filters when you need to include inactive templates.
  • Select Start Workout. A template with one available day starts immediately; a template with multiple days opens a compact day selector.
  • Edit, View, Export, and other secondary actions are in the template's three-dot menu.
  • Export actions are hidden from the normal mobile view to keep the page focused.

Workout Templates

All members can start shared built-in templates. Creating and editing member-owned custom templates is a Pro or Coaching feature. Approved coaches with Coaching access can also create private coach-owned templates. These are visible only to their owner coach and admins; they are not shared with clients or other coaches.

  • Template defaults let you set common sets, reps, RPE, rest, and progression settings once.
  • RPE uses whole numbers on a 0-13 scale; RPE 8 means roughly two reps left before failure, 10 means failure, and values above 10 represent beyond-failure effort.
  • New exercises inherit the template defaults.
  • Each exercise can still override the inherited values.
  • RPE recorded during completed working sets is used for the estimated effective-rep summaries.
  • Starting a workout from a template creates a new workout session from the selected template day.
  • Coach-owned templates stop being available if the coach loses approval or Coaching access.
  • Admins can find coach-owned templates in the Coach-owned filter. Admin access does not make the template visible to members.

Edit A Template

The template editor centers the selected week, day, and exercise list. Detailed settings stay collapsed until you need them.

  • Open Template Settings to change the name, description, defaults, and progression settings.
  • Use the horizontal week and day controls to move through the schedule. Select the plus button to add a week or day.
  • Use the selected week or day's three-dot menu for removal and other secondary actions.
  • Select Add Exercise beneath the current day to add another movement.
  • Tap an exercise row to expand its targets and settings. Only one exercise editor stays open at a time.
  • Notes and detailed progression settings remain collapsed inside the exercise editor until opened.
  • Open Training Method to assign consecutive exercises to the same Superset Group or prescribe a final-set Rest-Pause, Cluster, or Drop Set.
  • Rest-pause settings control total efforts and intra-set rest. Cluster settings also prescribe reps per cluster. Drop-set settings control total loads and the suggested percentage reduction.
  • Export, deactivate, and other template-level commands are in the page-header three-dot menu.

Training Method Display

Workout intensifiers are available with Pro or Coaching access. The template summary and generated workout both show method badges. Supersets appear as A1, A2, B1, and B2 groups; other intensifiers appear on the affected final set and expand into individually logged portions during the workout.

Template exports preserve the grouping and method prescription. Imported version 1 templates remain standard unless they include the newer training-method fields.

Training Programs

Member-owned custom programs are available with Pro or Coaching access. Approved coaches with Coaching access can create private coach-owned programs. Coach-owned programs and their schedules are visible only to the owner coach and admins; they are not shared with clients or other coaches.

  • Add weeks and schedule template days into each week.
  • Set a mesocycle goal such as hypertrophy, strength, fat loss, maintenance, or peaking.
  • Each week can have a phase, phase goal, volume multiplier, intensity multiplier, RPE adjustment, and deload flag.
  • A deload week reduces working sets by 40%, reduces weight by 10%, and makes RPE easier by -2.

Progression Rules

Progression rules are available with Pro or Coaching access and recommend what should change next time based on completed workout history. The current rule types are Linear Progression, Double Progression, Set/Rep Scheme Progression, and Failure-Based Deload.

Admin Deletion

Only admins can permanently delete templates and programs. A template scheduled in a training program cannot be deleted until it is removed from that program. Deactivation remains available when an item should be hidden without removing it.
