Coaching Relationships

Coach Review And Feedback

For an active relationship where Workout History is shared, the coach can review completed sessions from the last 90 days, estimated one-rep max values, weekly training volume and average RPE, and adherence to an assigned program's scheduled workouts. Reviews are read-only; coaches cannot edit member workouts, sets, profile settings, or account security.

Private coach notes are visible only to the coach and are not included in the member's export. Shared feedback is a separate record visible to the member, including after the relationship ends. Ending a relationship immediately removes the coach's access to review data and private notes. Coaching records are removed when either participant deletes their account. A member's export includes feedback they received; a coach's export includes their private notes and feedback they sent or received.

Coach-Assigned Workouts

On Templates, an approved coach with active Coaching access can open the Built-ins list and choose Clone to Coach Templates. The clone is private to that coach and can be edited without changing the built-in workout.

Coaches can permanently delete their own coach-owned templates from the template editor's actions menu. A template used by a training program must first be removed from that program. Deleting a source template does not change client-assigned copies or their workout history.

From an active client relationship, the coach can assign one of their coach-owned workout templates. The client receives a separate Assigned template and can start its scheduled workout days from Templates. The workout, exercises, sets, and results created from it belong to the client. Ending the relationship disables future starts but does not remove completed workout history.

Coach-Assigned Programs

An approved coach with active Coaching access can assign a coach-owned program to an active client. The app creates a separate client-specific copy of the program, its workout templates, and any coach-owned exercises it uses. Later edits to the coach's source do not change the assigned copy.

Members can open an active assignment from the Dashboard or Programs page and start its scheduled workouts. Workout sessions, sets, and results belong to the member. Replacing an assignment or ending the coaching relationship stops future starts from that assignment; existing workout history remains in the member's account.

When a coach updates the source program, the coach can offer a new version to current clients. The member can review its schedule and exercise prescriptions on the Programs page, then apply it to future workouts. Applying is unavailable while a workout session is in progress. The current assignment remains active until the member applies the update; completed workout history is not changed.

Invitations And Consent

An approved coach with an active Coaching entitlement can invite a verified, approved member. The invitation lists the coach and each requested data category. Nothing from the member's account is available to the coach while the invitation is pending.

The member can accept only selected categories or decline. A relationship becomes active only after acceptance. Accepting grants only the selected categories.

Shared Categories

  • Workout history: dates, workout titles, exercise names, completed set reps and loads, warm-up markers, and RPE. Loads use the current preferred unit; changing units does not convert old entries. Workout and exercise notes are excluded.
  • Body stats: dates, bodyweight in the current preferred unit, height and measurements in inches, and body-fat percentage. Changing weight units does not convert old entries. Notes and calculation-sex fields are excluded.
  • Training profile: display name, training goal, experience level, training days per week, preferred unit, and available equipment. Email, phone, sex, and height are excluded.

Change Or End Access

On Coaching Relationships, a member can change the selected categories and save. Removed categories are no longer available on subsequent coach requests. A member or coach can end an active relationship; ending it clears all granted categories. Pending, declined, and ended relationships do not grant access to client records.

Coaches must retain administrator approval, an approved account, and an active Coaching entitlement. Suspension or revocation immediately disables coach tools and access to client records, even if a Coaching entitlement remains. Coach approval and Coaching access are separate from the member's consent. A member can still change consent or end the relationship.

Coach Client Overview

The active-client overview shows the relationship start date. Last workout and 28-day workout totals appear only when workout history is shared. The adherence percentage is shown only when both workout history and training days per week are shared. Latest bodyweight and its change from the most recent entry at least 28 days earlier appear only when body stats are shared.

Names, workout activity, training targets, and body stats are each limited by the member's current consent. Coaches see no overview for pending or ended relationships, unverified accounts, or accounts without approved membership.
